John 14:6 says that Jesus is the way, the truth, and the life. He is the only way to the Father. He is the One we worship. He is the only perfect example for us to follow, and He reigns as Lord over all the world.
We are going to take the next several weeks to learn about Jesus’ life on earth. We need to know about the One who came to save us. We need to know why He is worthy of our worship. We need to know how He lived to understand the abundant life He wants us to have.
I hope you enjoy this precious time with your kids as you learn about our Savior. I am praying that God will teach all of us more about Him and that we will all be drawn nearer to Him as we study His Word and His Truth.
Memory Verses
“Jesus said to him, ‘I am the way, and the truth, and the life. No man comes to the Father except through me'” ~John 14:6
“Jesus Christ is the same yesterday and today and forever.” ~Hebrews 13:8
“You shall love the LORD your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your strength.” ~Deuteronomy 6:5
Unit Activity Idea
- Make a Jesus Journal or Jesus notebook.
- Get a blank notebook or staple several pieces of paper together to create your own notebook. You could also just use a pocket folder and collect the papers daily.
- Depending on the age/ability level of your children, have them write a short summary or what stands out to them the most, or they can draw or color a picture of the story of Jesus they read each day.
- Older kids (or parents) may want to pick one verse from the passage and “SOAP” it.
- S=What Scripture verse stands out the most to you?
- O=What observations do you make about it?
- A=How does this apply to your life?
- P=Pray about what God is teaching you through this verse.
