The Good Samaritan
- Pray.
- Review the memory verse. Can they say it while standing on one foot and doing the motions at the same time?
- Ask, “What are some good things you do for others? Why do you do them?”
- When we are loving the Lord and walking in the Spirit, we should be showing goodness to others. We do this out of love.
- Read Luke 10:25-37.
- Discuss:
- Fill in the blanks- “You shall ___________ the Lord your God with all your ________, with all your _______, with all your _______, and with all your ________. And you should also love your __________ as __________.” (Luke 10:27, Matthew 22:37-39)
- Ask, “Who passed by the injured man without stopping? Who stopped to help? How did he help? Why do you think he helped”
- Samaritans and Jews usually didn’t like each other, yet this Samaritan had compassion on the injured man. He was loving another with the same love he would want someone to show him.
- Read Galations 6:10.
- Ask, “Do we do good only to the people we really like? Do we do good only when we are in a good mood? Do we do good so that we can be rewarded?”
- We show goodness because God is good, and He has been good to us,
- Ask, “How has God shown His goodness to you?”
- Ask, “What are some ways you can do good at home? What are some ways you can do good at school? At church? Playing with friends?”
- Pray, asking God to help us show others His goodness by the way we treat other people.
