Who Am I?

Memory Verse

“I praise you,

for I am fearfully and wonderfully made.

Wonderful are your works;

my soul knows it very very well.”

Psalm 139:14

I usually like to do this unit as school is starting each year. Our kids, whether public schooled, private schooled, or even homeschooled, will be faced with new challenges, questions, and concerns as they enter a new year of school. In order for them to deal with these things that come up, they need to have a solid understanding of what God thinks about them and who He says they are. When they know they are loved, designed, and shaped by the Creator who has good plans for them and Who is always with them, they can proceed with confidence and conviction as they go through their year.

Since this unit is designed to take place during the busyness of back to school, the lessons may be a little shorter. Even if you can’t get to the whole lesson each day, try to at least read the key Bible verse and discuss it or pray it over your children.

In high school, my mom used to say a Bible verse to us each morning as we were leaving for school. Many days there were eye rolls and “hurry up, Mom”, but because she persevered and wouldn’t let her kids rattle her determination, these verses are still hidden in my heart.

“You, however, continue in the things you have learned and become convinced of, knowing from whom you have learned them, and that from childhood you have known the sacred writings which are able to give you the wisdom that leads to salvation through faith which is in Christ Jesus. All Scripture is inspired by God and profitable for teaching, for reproof, for correction, for training in righteousness, so that the man of God may be adequate, equipped for every good work.” 2 Timothy 3:14-17
